AsianMall is a directory of Asian businesses and Asian-focused businesses in the United States. The kind of places you'd only find if you grew up there, or knew someone who did.
The idea started simple: we kept recommending the same handful of places to friends. An under-the-radar Vietnamese sandwich shop, a Japanese konbini in a strip mall, a Filipino bakery that only regulars know about.
None of them ranked well on general review sites. Algorithms reward volume. These places had loyal regulars, not thousands of reviews.
So we built AsianMall to help visitors find Asian businesses by location, category, and cuisine. Listings are live in the Bay Area during early access.
How we work
A few things we believe in.
How listings are added
Our directory is not ranked by an ad auction. Listings may begin with public map data or a business submission, then our publishing checks and editorial work shape what appears.
Community-powered
Customers leave first-hand reviews, share tips, and report corrections. Business owners claim and manage their own pages, free during early access. Photo submissions are currently paused.
Specific on purpose
We focus on businesses rooted in Asian cuisines, goods, services, communities, and traditions because "Asian" is not a monolith. Korean groceries, Filipino bakeries, Persian spice shops: the specificity is the point.
Trust stays separate
Reviews, ratings, and verification come from community activity or direct checks by our team. Outside influence cannot change a review, hide criticism, or create a verified status.
How listings are checked
What belongs in the directory.
Listings may begin with licensed public map data, a community suggestion, or a business submission. Before publication, we check required location and category fields and screen for duplicates and obvious mismatches. Inclusion does not mean that our team personally visited or endorses a business. A place fits when it's:
Asian or Asian-focused
The heart of the directory: businesses rooted in an Asian community, cuisine, product, service, or tradition. Asian-owned appears only after voluntary owner confirmation.
A traceable place
The page carries a physical location and source-backed details. Business information can still change, so owners and visitors can send corrections.
Relevant to the directory
Category and location checks help screen out duplicates, unrelated records, and incomplete imports before publication.
What we'll never do
- Fabricate a rating, review, or photo. Every rating you see comes from a real first-party review; unrated places say "No reviews yet."
- Reorder organic listings for outside influence. Directory order follows relevance and community signals.
- Let outside influence touch reviews. Honest criticism stays visible unless it breaks our guidelines.
