The deal, kept simple

Use AsianMall and you’re agreeing to these. We’ve kept the lawyer-speak to a minimum.

The basics

AsianMall is a guide to Asian businesses and Asian-focused businesses. We work hard to keep listings accurate, but we’re a directory. We don’t run the restaurants, shops, or salons we list, and we can’t promise every detail is current (hours move, places close). An “Owner-confirmed Asian-owned” badge is a voluntary owner self-attestation, not an independent certification. When in doubt, call ahead.

Open data and directory sources

Our current public business catalog is available as a free JSON download under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. It includes current non-OpenStreetMap additions and source notices, not just records labeled OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap contents (© OpenStreetMap contributors) and AsianMall’s rights in included original text and additions are available under DbCL 1.0. Overture Maps contents retain the CDLA Permissive 2.0, Apache 2.0 or CC0 terms identified in the download. Separate user photographs, reviews and other authored works are not licensed merely by their appearance on the site. These Terms, including the site-use restrictions below, do not restrict rights granted by the download’s identified licenses. See Data & Licenses for scope, notices and free requests for additional applicable derivative data, alterations or historical versions. The current download does not certify that every historical obligation is resolved.

Your account

You must be 18 or older to create an account and post. Anyone can browse AsianMall, but posting reviews or photos requires an account, and you confirm you’re 18+ when you sign up. Keep your login to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.

What you post

Your reviews and photos are yours. By posting them, you’re letting us show them on AsianMall. Keep it honest and first-hand, and follow our Community Guidelines: no fake reviews, nothing you don’t have the rights to, nothing hateful or illegal. Customer photos are reviewed before they appear publicly. Reports send reviews to our moderation queue; reports alone do not automatically hide criticism. After review, we can remove or hide content that crosses the line and close accounts that abuse the place.

Reporting & illegal content

See something that breaks the rules? Report it. No account needed. We don’t tolerate illegal content, including non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII). We remove it as required by law (typically within 48 hours of a valid report) and cooperate with the authorities. Sexual content involving minors is removed immediately and reported.

Copyright & DMCA takedowns

If you believe material here infringes your copyright, send a notice via our report form or to hello@asianmall.com including: (1) your physical or electronic signature, (2) identification of the copyrighted work, (3) the exact link or enough detail for us to locate the material, (4) your contact details, (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized, and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you’re authorized to act. We remove qualifying material promptly, honor valid counter-notices, and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

For business owners

Claim your listing for free and manage it yourself. Sponsored placement is always labeled “Sponsored.” Paying never buys better reviews or hides criticism. Ads and reviews are kept completely separate. Only claim a business you actually own or run. Listed in our directory and want a correction or removal? Email hello@asianmall.com and we’ll update or take down your listing.

Free during Early Access

AsianMall is currently free during Early Access. We may introduce optional paid features later. Pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be shown before anyone purchases. Payment will never buy better reviews, hide criticism, or count as AsianMall verifying a business.

Please don’t

Do not disrupt the site, bypass access controls, or use it to spam people. These site-use rules do not restrict extraction or reuse permitted by the licenses accompanying our data download.

The legal bit

No warranties. AsianMall is a directory, provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don’t promise the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing’s hours, prices, contact details, photos, or reviews are accurate or current.

Directory information & user content. AsianMall creates some listings from public or community-provided information and adds its own editorial content. Business representatives and other users may also contribute information, reviews, and photos. A community listing is not currently managed by a business representative on AsianMall. Inclusion does not imply affiliation or endorsement. We do not independently verify every statement; any verification marks apply only to the details they identify. We are not a party to your dealings with any business you find here.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AsianMall and its operators won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you; nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Indemnification. If your use of the site or your content causes a third-party claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs (including legal fees) we incur from it, to the extent the claim arises from your actions or content.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms and will change the date below when we do. These are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located there.
